What is allulose?

It is a rare type of sugar that is found in small quantities in nature. It is called rare because the body cannot metabolize it.

Allulose is found in small amounts naturally in raisins, figs, and maple syrup. Although it is a monosaccharide (simple sugar) The body cannot metabolize it , so it has no available carbohydrates, no calories, nor does it raise blood glucose. It is considered a prebiotic and acts as a fiber, reducing the glycemic impact of the foods with which it is mixed.

Allulose has a great property... it caramelizes just like sugar!

Allulose has 70% of the sweetness of sugar, it is useful to replace sugar in a wide variety of applications. It has the same bulking, caramelizing and freezing agent properties as sugar.

Allulose can be used safely by people with diabetes due to its almost zero glycemic index. Due to its gastrointestinal effects, it is recommended not to exceed the consumption of 0.9g allulose/kg of weight per day.

Allulose already has several scientific studies that support its safety of consumption, no impact on blood glucose and benefit for people with insulin resistance.
